Professional Qualifications:

Dr. Bandi has a basic medical degree from India and Fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons (Ireland) in Surgery and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Urology.

Dr. Bandi has been the Chair of the Special Advisory Group (ASAG) in Andrology of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) for two terms from 2007 to 2013 (6 Years).

He is a Life Member of the Urological Society of India, a Full Member of the Urological Society of Australasia, a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Urological Surgeons, Member of the American Urological Association, a Full Overseas Member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons, Full Member of the Societe International Urologie, Member of the Avant (previously United Medical Protection Society), Member of the Australian Medical Association and one of the Members of the Urology and Nephrology Subgroup of the Australian Clinical Casemix Committee, Former Member of the NSW Clinical Casemix Committee - NCCC, and a Member of the Clinical Review Committee at the Mater Hospital in Mackay since June 2003.

Special Interests:

Dr. Bandi has a special interest in Andrology, Urological Oncology, Prostate Brachytherapy, Erectile Dysfunction and Infertility, Endourology and Lithotripsy, Female Urology and Incontinence. He is licensed to perform Prostate Brachytherapy at the Greenslopes Private Hospital in conjunction with Drs Kumar Gogna (Radiation Oncologist) and Glen Wood (Urologist Mentor for Prostate Brachytherapy) and at the Mater Hospital-Hyde Park Campus Townsville with Drs Peter Fon and Joshua Dass (Radiation Oncologists).

Mackay Lithotripsy Service provided by Mackay Urology:

Dr. Bandi is the Honorary Clinical Director of Mackay Lithotripsy Service which provides a comprehensive Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy Service to the people of Mackay and surrounding areas. The facility is based at the Mater Hospital in Mackay and has a state of the art Econolith 2000 Lithotripsy machine with a brand new recently acquired Phillips Image intensifier to facilitate easy localisation of the calculi.

Continence Management provided by Mackay Urology:

An Australian qualified Continence Advisor and Urodynamic Facility are also available in Mackay through this practice. Voiding flow studies, cystometrograms, Urodynamic evaluations both video and non-video and biofeedback with pelvic stimulator can be offered by this service. Teaching and monitoring of Clean Intermittent Catheterisation for patients with voiding dysfunction can be organised.

How to obtain an Appointment at Mackay Urology:

A referral letter from the GP or Primary care provider is a pre-requisite. All copies of x-rays performed and results of blood and urine tests done should be brought on the day of consultation. Unless informed to the contrary most patients are advised to come with a full bladder to facilitate measurement of a voiding flow rate.

Prostate Brachytherapy Service in North Queensland:

A Brachytherapy Service to treat Prostate Cancer patients regionally has been set up by Dr Sanjeev Bandi in conjunction with Dr Steven Lun, Urologist and Dr Peter Fon, Radiation Oncologist from North Queensland Oncology Service at the Mater Hospital Hyde Park Campus in Townsville. This project has been established with a Federal Grant and has Mr. Adrian Gibbs, the Radiation Physicist at Greenslopes Private Hospital assisting with the planning.
